No More Beautiful Way to See a Client

Every clinician already works from an anthropology, a working view of the human person, whether or not they name it. Anthony Isacco, PhD, LP, shows how Catholic anthropology can ground that view: each person is created in God's image, inherently good, unique, and free. He traces four dimensions of human dignity in Church teaching (ontological, moral, social, and existential), connects them with person-centered, cognitive behavioral, and strengths-based approaches, and links treating clients with dignity to research on the therapeutic relationship. Through a case example, you'll see how reminding a distressed client of who they are can itself become an intervention.
